Karnawał trwa / The carnival is on

Zanim przejdę do meritum, pragnę podkreslić, co pewnie niektórzy już zauważyli, że po prawej stronie pojawił się nowy baner. Ten blog zgłosiłam do konkursu blog roku. Baner jest jednocześnie linkiem od kategorii i moich w niej wypocin. Głosowanie zacznie się dwudziestego czwartego stycznia i oczywiście liczę na to, że wesprzecie starą be_bronze.

Dlaczego kategoria „ja i moje życie”? Z bardzo prostej przyczyny – nie dopasowalam lepszej. Lifestyle to to nie jest. „Pasje i zainteresowania” niby brzmią bardziej prawidłowo, ale w opisie kategorii podano, że aby blog spełniał kryteria, musi być w całości poświęcony konkretnemu zagadnieniu. A ja jednak nie tylko przecież o podróżach piszę. Czasem nawet zdażają mi się cąłkiem prywatne wycieczki...

A wracając do tematu dzisiejszego posta – karnawał trwa w najlepsze. Dlatego korzystając z faktu, że jeszcze nie jest za późno, pragnę Wam pokazać nieco wschodnioazjatyckich dekoracji świątecznych. Przy ichnim stężeniu kiczu stara Europa nawet w najbardziej skomercjalizowanych i turystycznych miejscach zdaje się być ostoją dobrego gustu.

Ani w Singapurze, ani w Hong Kongu nie ma możliwości, aby wejść do centrum handlowego, czy choćby większego sklepu i uniknąć cukierkowo - pozytywkowych nagrań z anglojęzycznymi kolędami. Najgorsze były te grane na lotnisku w Singapurze – choćby dlatego, że musiałam jednej płyty powtarzanej w kółko słuchać przez prawie cztery godziny.

Mimo kiczu ciężko jest jednak oderwać wzrok – przy pierwszym zetknięciu z tym bogactwem lampek, bombek i sztucznych choinek – człowiek chce sfotografować wszystko. Ten stan mija dopiero około drugiego dnia zwiedzania. Dlatego zdjęć mam sporo i będę je dorzucała to tego albumu. Tylko dajcie mi trochę czasu J

Before I start with the right topic, I’d like to stress the fact that on the right side you can see a new banner. It says that this blog is taking part in Polish blog of the year contest. Banner contains a link to the category I compete in and the position of my blog in it. Voting will commence on January 24^th. And of course I am counting on your support for old be_bronze.

I chose the category “me and my life”. Why? Cause there was none more suitable. It’s not a lifestyle blog. And “passions and interests” was described as a category for blogs fully concerned with one topic. And although I am writing mostly about my travels – it’s not my only topic. Sometimes I write (maybe even too much) about myself.

And coming back to the topic of today’s post – the carnival is fully on. And I am about to use the fact that it is not too late yet and show you some of the East Asian Christmas decorations. Compared with the amount of kitsch on their streets the old Europe, even in the most commercialized and turistuc spots seems to be an oasis of the good taste.

Neither in Singapore nor in Hong Kong can one walk into the shopping mall or even any bigger shop and avoid listening to the English versions of Christmas Carols in most cheap and sweet arrangements. The worst for me were four hours at the airport in Singapore – mostly because I had to listen to them for four consecutive hours.

Despite the kitsch all around it’s hard not to watch it all with amusement. Once you enter this world of lights, glitter balls and plastic trees you want to photograph them all. You can stop yourself no sooner than on the second day of the trip. And that is why I have really many pictures and I will kep uploading them into this album. Just give me some time J
