Mieszkamy w okolicy zwanej Badda, bardzo blisko Ronda Gulshan One. Aby dojść do ronda trzeba przejść groblą na utworzoną na jeziorze Gulshan.

We live in the Badda area very close to Gulshan One Circle. But to get to the circle frist we need to cross the dike on the Gulshan Lake.

Dhaka pełna jest zwierzaków, w tym bezdomnych psiaków. Ale w przeciwieństwie do np. Mauritiusa, rzadko widzi się tu głodne stworzenia.

Dhaka is full of animals, homeless dogs mostly. But unlike in for instance Maurutius they never seem to be hungry.

Na prawym brzegu grobli jest niewielki targ warzywny, gdzie przy użyciu rąk i kilku słów, które udało mi się zapamiętać prawie codziennie kupuję pomidory i inne warzywa, a S. nie znane mi wcześniej owoce, z których przygotowuje pyszne sałatki.

On the right side of the dike on Gulshan Lake is a small vegetable market where using my hands and a few words I managed to remember I buy tomatoes and other vegetables every day. And S. picks fruits that I have never tried before to prepare his delicious salads.

As usual in tropical countries - cables are hanging everywhere. In the background you can see Gulshan One Circle and characteristic for ex-Brittish colonies, double deck buses.

Podróżować można na wiele sposobów, szczególnie w obłędnych korkach Dhaki.

There are many ways to travel especially in the crazy traffic jams in Dhaka.

Gulshan to obok Banani jedna z najbardziej drogich i eleganckich dzielnic. Mieszkania w willach zwanych "Pałac Zachodni", "Zamek Bengalu", "Duma Gulshan" itp. są przestronne i pewnie droższe niż podobne metraże w centrum Warszawy.

Gulshan is alike Banani one of the poshest and most expensive districts. Apartaments in villas called "Western Palace", "Bengal Castle", "Gulshan Pride" etc. are spacious and probably more expensive than same living area in the center of Warsaw.

Niektóre budynki w Dhace, szczególnie w pełnym słońcu, wyglądają naprawdę pięknie.

Some buildings in Dhaka, especially in the full sun look really pretty.

Co nie oznacza, że wszystkie te eleganckie bloki nie sąsiadują z ruderami biedoty.

Which does not mean that these elegant, modern buildings are not surrounded by slums.

Malowidła na rikszach należy chyba uznać za bengalską wersję sztuki ulicy...

Rikshaw paintings shall probably be qualified as Bengali vershion of street art...

Z daleka woda w jeziorze Banani wydaje się być taka czysta...

From the distance the water in Banani Lake seems to be so clean...

To i poniższe dwa zdjęcia przedstawiają dość charakterystyczny dla Bangladeszu styl upiększania... I ciężko tu mówić o kiczu, bo to by było bardzo europejskie podejście do piękna.

This and following two pictures show quite characteristic for Bangladesh style of beautification... And it's hard to talk about "kitsch" because that would be very European way of thinking about beauty.

Zwierzęta odpoczywające na środku ulicy zdają się jeszcze mniej niż ludzie przejmować tłokiem i hałasem.

Animals seem to be even less considered about the jams and noise than people and they calmly rest in the middle of streets.
